Horizontal Discussion and Freely Expressing Opinions: ‘Working Strategy Innovation’ for an ‘Agile” Organization

- HDC Group held group relay workshops to achieve the strategic goals of 2019
- Promotion to a “Fast & Smart Company” working “Agile”

HDC (Chairman Mong Gyu Chung) is accelerating the transition of HDC to a “Fast & Smart Company” through group-level relay workshops.

The HDC Group has been conducting the “2019 HDC Relay Workshop” since February to share the new direction of “Fast & Smart” with all affiliated companies. This is an integrated workshop program that combines all workshops conducted by and for each affiliated company. This workshop is characterized by an in-depth discussion on common topics such as the development of new business models, the methods of securing and cultivating excellent talent, the expansion of operation and service business, and profitability enhancement, in addition to the innovation in the team basis operation method of the 14 affiliated companies.

Particularly, all team members actively participated in the meeting and discussed freely so they could have a horizontal discussion and express their opinions freely to cope with the strategic direction of the HDC group, moving toward the agile organization. Moreover, ‘HDC facilitators' helped the team members who attended the workshop participate in the meeting smoothly. The ‘HDC facilitators' refer to meeting moderators who prepare and assist the process so that the attendees of the meetings can actively participate in the meeting and draw collective intelligence and consensus. HDC Group will develop self-perpetuating ability to cope with rapidly changing the external environment by sharing the vision and goals of teams identified in the relay workshops and strengthening the competitiveness of HDC.

As a part of the HDC Relay Workshop, the “HDC Group Presidents Workshop” was held at Park Roche, Jeongseon, Ganwon-do on 22 and 23, 2019. CEOs of 12 affiliated companies including Dae Cheol Kim, CEO of HDC Hyundai Development Company, and the directors of the headquarters attended the workshop. CEOs announced the pending issues of affiliated companies and they discussed the business convergence to give new experiences to customers, which was emphasized by Chairman Mong Gyu Chung earlier this year.
