- Providing practical assistance such as necessities and
flood recovery equipment to special disaster areas including Gochang, Cheongju,
and Yecheon
- Wishing for the swift recovery of local communities and
actively stepping forward to practice social responsibility by assisting where
help is needed
Hyundai Development Company is engaging in a relay donation
campaign for disaster relief and recovery efforts, focusing on areas severely
affected by record-breaking heavy rainfall.
Amid ongoing efforts to support flood-stricken regions in
Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do, where human and property damages
occurred due to recent flooding, Hyundai Development Company is actively
providing substantial assistance to local communities. They are collaborating
with local authorities to implement tailored activities that reflect the unique
characteristics of each area.
Starting with the delivery of essential goods and home
appliances for flood victims in Gochang County, Chungcheongbuk-do, and
providing equipment for waste disposal and road restoration in over 140 farming
households on the 19th, Hyundai Development Company continued their support by
supplying necessary items for the repair work of inundated households in
Cheongju City, Chungcheongbuk-do, on the 24th. Notably, employees from I-Park
Zone 5 of Gagyeong, Cheongju, participated in a goods delivery event at the
Cheongju City Hall to extend their support and condolences to the local
residents.
In addition, on the 27th, Hyundai Development Company
delivered relief items for flood victims to Yecheon County Office in
Gyeongsangbuk-do. Considering the greater challenges faced by the elderly and
disabled individuals during severe disaster situations, HDC prepared items such
as rice, groceries, and air conditioners for the cold weather. In collaboration
with Yecheon County Office, these items were evenly distributed to facilities
for the elderly and disabled residents, including Yeonkkot Village. Moreover, Hyundai
Development Company supported the removal of accumulated soil at the Yecheon
Water Intake Plant, providing heavy machinery like excavators. This
contribution is expected to greatly assist in securing clean water for over
10,000 households in Yecheon County.
A representative from Hyundai Development Company stated,
"We extend our deep condolences and words of encouragement to the
residents of Chungcheongbuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do who have suffered
significant losses due to this unprecedented concentrated rainfall. While no
words can fully comfort them, we hope that the goods and equipment we provide
can offer at least some help towards the swift recovery of their daily
lives."
Additionally, apart from the disaster relief donation
efforts, Hyundai Development Company continues to engage in social
contributions aimed at co-prosperity with local communities. Throughout the
year, they have participated in various forms of sharing, including support for
victims of the Guryong Village fire in Gangnam-gu, emergency aid for the
Gangneung forest fires, and other moments requiring assistance. In addition,
they have carried out tailored social contribution activities that suit the
local context, such as participating in reforestation volunteering in Yongsan,
providing support for disabled individuals through the Yongsan Welfare
Foundation, donating rice to elderly citizens, supporting vulnerable children
with living expenses, conducting mural painting at Haeoreumbil, and
participating in Han River Park beautification activities in Ichon. In all
these ways, they actively fulfill their social responsibility within the
community.
