On August 23rd, Mong Gyu Chung, Chairman of HDC, received recognition from the Business Leaders Awards by Economists at the 19th Joint Conference on Business Administration, organized by the Korea Academic Society of Business Administration (KASBA).
As the best and largest domestic academic society in the business administration sector with 60 years of history, KASBA has played a leading role in advancing research on business administration and education in Korea. Since 1987, it has presented the Business Leaders Awards by Economists to business people who have demonstrated progressive entrepreneurship and an excellent spirit of management while making great contributions to induce solid development of individual companies and the entire industry, furthering growth of the national economy.
In his acceptance speech, given at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju Metropolitan City, Chairman Mong Gyu Chung, who was chosen as the 32nd recipient, said, “I would like to thank you for choosing me as a recipient of this meaningful award honoring the economic development and history of Korea. Since I still have a lot to learn, I feel burdened to receive this excellent award, but I will take it as encouragement to keep doing a good job.”
Within the Hyundai circle, Chairman Mong Gyu Chung is the 4th recipient of the Business Leaders Awards by Economists, following Ju Yung Chung (the late founder of Hyundai Group who received the award in 1987), In Yung Chung (the late honorary chairman of Halla Group who accepted the award in 1996), and Mong Koo Chung (Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, awarded in 1997).
