Through land donation, the company has also taken the first step in the Yongsan Railroad Hospital Site development project that will penetrate Yongsan’s past and future. Yongsan-gu prepared a meaningful event on the 23rd, inviting the citizens of Seoul to the opening ceremony of the Yongsan History Museum, which will be a place for citizens where Yongsan’s history and modern culture coexist. Yongsan History Museum was designated as the Yongsan History & Culture Renaissance Special Zone by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups last April, and the project was carried out as a civic center historic base construction special project of Yongsan-gu. HDC Hyundai Development Company proceeded with the construction according to the restoration and repair plans of the advisory committee established for the restoration of the Yongsan History Museum, Registered Cultural Property No. 428. After breaking ground in May 2021, major repairs such as demolition, reinforcement, restoration, and exhibition construction were completed in February. The museum opened in March.

HDC Hyundai Development Company is planning to make the Yongsan History Museum be a sustainable space that penetrates the times, as well as a cyclic space with no boundaries, where, as a future complex cultural space, the museum, residential space, plaza, and retail space are interconnected.

The Yongsan Railroad Hospital Site development project, that HDC Hyundai Development Company is carrying out, is a project to develop a 10,772㎡site in the area between street addresses 65 and 154, Hangangno 3-ga, Yongsan-gu, within the Yongsan District Unit Planning Area. The main building of the Yongsan Railroad Hospital located within the site has been remodeled into Yongsan History Museum, carrying on the heritage of Yongsan, while the multipurpose building, planned to be up to 33 stories high with 6 basement levels and accommodate 621 households, will be developed into a residential-commercial complex that combines high-class residences with shopping and culture. Last May, HDC IPARK 1st REIT Co., Ltd., HDC Hyundai Development Company’s real estate investment company, obtained a business permit for the Yongsan Railroad Hospital Site development project from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport and is carrying out the project in earnest. After the licensing and administrative procedures are complete, they will begin construction in the second half of the year.
