- On the 31st, HDC Group employees conducted a joint
volunteer effort to paint a mural on the fence of the Haeeoreum Building in
Yongsan-gu for local beautification.
- Various social contribution activities will be continued
to fulfill social responsibility and collaborate with the local community for
mutual growth.
On the last day of May, Hyundai Development Company (HDC)
conducted a mural painting volunteer activity involving around 20 employees
from various subsidiaries of the HDC Group. The activity aimed to improve the
living environment of underprivileged residents within Yongsan-gu district.
This volunteer effort, organized as a collaborative
initiative among HDC Group affiliates including Hyundai Development Company,
HDC I-Park Mall, and HDC Shilla Duty Free, carried significant meaning.
Employees from these companies joined forces with a specialized mural painting
company called The Drawing Company to rejuvenate the deteriorated walls of
Haorum Village, a facility for single-parent families in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Kim Tae-wan, a manager from Hyundai Development Company who
participated in the volunteer activity, expressed, "I feel proud that the
streets frequented by local residents in Yongsan, where our headquarters is
located, have become more vibrant through this mural painting project." He
added, "The sense of accomplishment comes from knowing that even the
freshly painted murals can bring some small joys to the community."
Furthermore, throughout the year, Hyundai Development
Company engaged in various social contribution activities aimed at fostering
symbiotic relationships with the local community. These activities included
tree planting, support for disabled individuals through Yongsan Welfare
Foundation, rice donations for the elderly and senior citizens' associations,
mentoring programs in collaboration with Yongsan Dragons baseball team, as well
as donations and volunteer efforts outside the Yongsan area, such as supporting
Guryong Village fire victims in Gangnam-gu and participating in Han River
restoration activities.
Moreover, the company actively carried out social contribution activities nationwide, such as delivering groceries and life bracelets to vulnerable elderly individuals in Gwangju, providing firefighting equipment to local rescue teams, offering emergency assistance for the Gangneung forest fire, visiting a caring facility in Geoje Island, and donating to support the daily lives of disabled children in Yongsan-gu. Hyundai Development Company intends to continue its nationwide ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility while coexisting with local communities.
