HDC Group (Chairman Mong-gyu Chung) held the Future Strategy Meeting of HDC Group” on the 22nd at IPark Tower, Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu. The Future Strategy Meeting is where the top executives of HDC group gather biweekly to discuss the group's future direction and current improvements. It began in May 2019 and it was the 12th time. Chairman Mong-gyu Chung has paid special attention to it so that it can be the center of the advanced corporate culture. For example, each affiliate takes turns to be a facilitator and lead the meeting and everyone is encouraged to present the pros and cons for each agenda.

During this future strategy meeting, much time was devoted to reading discussions about Ray Dario's "Principles" and Amy Edmondson's "Fearless Organization", recommended by Chairman Mong-gyu Chung at the last meeting. The representatives of the affiliates shared the problems of current discussion and organizational culture in the affiliates. They also agreed that leaders must take an important role to give members trust that they will not be penalized or criticized for any opinions and comments. Moreover, they concurred that everyone should strive to establish a corporate culture that “accepts a mistake but does not accept not to learn from a mistake” based on the transparency of the work and the importance of talented people, as stated in the “Principle”, in HDC Group.

Chairman Mong-gyu Chung said, “For the healthy development of an organization, a transparent organizational culture shall be supported. The transparent organizational culture allows members to express their opinions freely.” He asked top executives “To listen to the opinions of their members so we can generate an organizational culture where members can freely discuss HDC group and the role of the company for the future development of South Korea.”

Meanwhile, Mong-gyu Chung, Chairman of HDC, has been steadily promoting reading and discussion in the group. He recommends or presents good books to executives and staff from time to time to deliver a message and holds a reading discussion frequently. An official of HDC Group said, “This was a meaningful time to sympathize with the organizational culture of HDC, which is growing as a mobility group through this future strategy meeting.”
